Planning Your Bathroom Renovation Budget
Prioritise your minimum needs versus the elements that would be nice to have. From there, we can help you balance your wishlist with your budget to get the best outcome.
Layout Retaining a similar layout significantly reduces work and costs required.
Bathroom size & complexity
Larger spaces and complex designs require more materials, labour and coordination.
Scope & timeframe
Structural changes and complex works increase both project duration and overall cost.
Tiling extent
Tiling limited to key areas (such as the shower and vanity splash back) is more cost-effective than full floor-to-ceiling tiling.
Tile size & pattern
Larger format tiles e.g. 600×600 or 300×600, typically reduce labour time, while smaller tiles e.g. 100×100 or 75×300 and intricate mosaics increase installation costs.
Tapware selection
Pricing varies widely. We recommend options that suit your style and budget while maximising our trade discounts.
Vanities & basins
Ready-made vanities and basins are more cost-effective than custom-made joinery.
Fittings, finishes & lighting choices
Selecting higher‑end fixtures such as heated towel rails, feature lighting, heating, and LED mirrors can enhance both impact and usability, though these options typically increase the overall budget compared to standard fittings.

Frequently Asked Questions About OUR Melbourne Renovations
How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Melbourne?
The cost depends largely on your choices and the scope of works. Retaining a similar layout, rather than relocating plumbing, electrical, or making structural changes, can help manage costs. Selections such as tiles, tapware, and finishes will also influence the overall budget. We’ll work with you to understand your priorities and guide where it makes sense to invest, so you can plan confidently without guessing or overcommitting.
As a general starting point, our bathroom renovations begin from $32,900, including our fully inclusive service and fittings and fixtures, subject to scope and selections.
What help do you provide for first-time renovators?
Many of our clients are renovating for the first time. We guide you through each step of the process, clearly detailing and explaining the scope of works and inclusions so you know exactly what to expect. Our team will explain decisions as they arise, ensuring you feel informed and comfortable before moving forward. Your dedicated Project Manager is also there throughout the project as your single point of contact for ongoing support and clarity.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Most standard bathroom renovations without structural changes take around 3 weeks with larger or more complex bathrooms 4 weeks. We’ll provide a clear project timeline before work begins, so you know exactly what to expect.
Can I remain in my home during the renovation?
In many cases, yes. However, you will not have access to the bathroom (or that room) at all during construction. There may also be brief periods where water services are temporarily interrupted while plumbing works are completed.
If your home has another bathroom or toilet, this typically allows you to remain comfortably onsite. Where no alternative facilities are available, portable toilets or temporary shower solutions can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to site access and space.
We’ll discuss these details with you before works commence so you can plan accordingly.
Do you handle all plumbing and electrical work?
Yes. Plumbing and electrical work are coordinated as part of the renovation, so everything stays compliant and professionally managed. Compliance certificates are also supplied upon completion.
What warranty do you provide?
Our renovations are covered by statutory warranties in accordance with relevant state laws and the National Construction Code (NCC). This includes:
• Structural work – 6 year warranty
• Non-structural work – 2 year warranty
• Waterproofing – 7 year warranty
Where applicable, works are also protected by Domestic Building Insurance (DBI).
Most warranties within your bathroom apply to fittings and fixtures, which are covered separately by the product supplier. We carefully select products from trusted brands known for their quality and longevity, with many items carrying extended warranties (for example, lifetime warranty applies on Meir tapware).
We’re happy to walk you through the specific warranty coverage for your renovation and chosen products.
Do I need permits?
Most bathroom renovations don’t require council approval, particularly if you’re not changing the room’s footprint. However, if your renovation involves structural changes permits may be required. We’ll assess this during your consultation.
What happens if we discover issues during demolition?
Occasionally, hidden issues like plumbing problems or structural concerns are discovered during renovation work. We’ll discuss any findings with you immediately and provide options for addressing them. Our transparent approach means you’ll understand any additional costs before work proceeds.
