Planning Your kitchen Renovation Budget
Prioritise your must-haves versus the elements that would be nice to have. From there, we can help you balance your wishlist with your budget to get the best outcome.
Layout
Retaining a similar layout significantly reduces the work and costs required. Relocating plumbing, electrical or making structural changes will increase both cost and timeframe.
Kitchen size & complexity
Larger spaces and more complex designs require more materials, labour and coordination.
Cabinetry finish
Options range from standard laminate through to designer profiles and premium 2-pac finishes. Each offers a different look, durability and price point, we will guide you through the options.
Benchtop selection
Laminate is the most cost-effective option, with engineered stone and porcelain increasing in price. Each material has its place depending on budget and how the kitchen will be used.
Splashback type
Tiled splashbacks vary in cost depending on tile selection and size. Glass or stone splashbacks are typically a premium option.
Appliances
A quality mid-range appliance package (cooktop, oven, rangehood, dishwasher) typically sits between $4,000–$5,000, with premium brands and configurations increasing from there. We can help you find the right balance of quality and value.
Flooring
If your flooring is being replaced as part of the kitchen renovation, this will affect the overall cost. We can include this in the scope of works and provide suitable options for your selection.
Electrical & lighting
Upgrades to power supply, switchboards, or the addition of feature lighting (pendants, LED strips) can add to the budget, but we identify these early so there are no surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions About Melbourne Renovations
How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Melbourne?
The cost of a kitchen renovation depends on the scope of works and the selections you choose. Retaining a similar layout generally helps manage costs, while relocating plumbing, electrical or making structural changes can increase the overall price.
Cabinetry finishes, benchtop materials, appliances and electrical upgrades will also influence the final cost. As a general guide, our kitchen renovations start from $40,000 depending on scope and selections.
What help do you provide for first-time renovators?
Many of our clients are renovating for the first time. We guide you through each step of the process, clearly explaining the scope of work and inclusions so you know exactly what to expect. Your dedicated Project Manager is there throughout the project as your single point of contact, available for questions, updates and ongoing support from start to finish.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Timelines vary depending on scope, material lead times and the complexity of works. As a general guide, a standard kitchen renovation with laminate cabinetry takes around 4 weeks, while projects with stone benchtops or 2-pac cabinetry typically take 6–8 weeks. We’ll provide a clear project timeline before work begins.
Can I remain in my home during the renovation?
In most cases, yes. That said, your kitchen will be out of action for the duration of the works, and there will be noise and some disruption on site. We’ll talk through what to expect in advance so you can plan accordingly.
Do you handle all plumbing and electrical work?
Yes. Plumbing and electrical work are coordinated as part of the renovation, so everything stays compliant and professionally managed. Compliance certificates are also supplied upon completion.
Do I need permits?
Most kitchen renovations don’t require permits, particularly if you’re not changing the room’s footprint. However, if your renovation involves structural changes permits may be required. We’ll assess this during your consultation.
What warranty do you provide?
Our renovations are covered by statutory warranties in accordance with relevant state laws and the National Construction Code (NCC). This includes:
• Structural work – 6 year warranty
• Non-structural work – 2 year warranty
• Waterproofing – 7 year warranty
Where applicable, works are also protected by Domestic Building Insurance (DBI).
Most warranties within your kitchen apply to fittings and fixtures, which are covered separately by the product supplier. We carefully select products from trusted brands known for their quality and longevity, with many items carrying extended warranties (for example, lifetime warranty applies on Meir tapware).
We’re happy to walk you through the specific warranty coverage for your renovation and chosen products.
