Crafting Melbourne Renovations with Confidence, Clarity & Care
Planning a home renovation can be both exciting and overwhelming. Whether you’re updating a bathroom, kitchen or transforming your entire home, knowing what to expect helps make the process smoother, more efficient, and far more enjoyable.
At Cornerstone Property Group, we combine years of building expertise with a refined client journey that makes renovating in Melbourne simple, clear, and stress-free. Here’s how we do it—from first ideas to final handover.
🔍 Step 1: Research & Get Excited
This is your time to dream!
Start collecting inspirational images and jotting down what you love—whether it’s coastal kitchens, modern bathrooms, or open-plan living spaces. These references will help our Interior Designer understand your style when you engage with us.
💡 Budget Reality Check
Renovation costs have changed in recent years, so it’s important to research what’s realistic today. Visit our FAQs page for current cost guides and begin thinking about what you’re comfortable investing.
🚿 Logistics Matter
Renovating your only bathroom? You’ll need to plan around how you’ll manage during construction. A big benefit of working with us is our quick turnaround— most bathrooms are completed in just 2–3 weeks. We can also assist with temporary shower/toilet solutions if needed.
📞 Step 2: Book a Consult
Reach out to our friendly Customer Service Team to discuss your project. We’ll gather key info about your goals, timeline, and budget, then schedule a consult with our builder and a site inspection.
📑 Step 3: Proposal Submission
Following your consult, we will prepare a clear, detailed proposal outlining inclusions, exclusions, and scope of works. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify anything—so you’re fully informed and confident before moving forward.
✅ Step 4: Approval & Pre-Construction Planning
Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll confirm timelines, access requirements, and other logistics. We’ll schedule a final check and measure, and then hand your project over to our Interior Designer and Project Manager.
💬 Important Note:
In Victoria, any domestic building work valued at more than $10,000 requires a written building contract. This is a legal requirement under the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995, and it protects both homeowners and builders. We’ll guide you through this process to ensure your project is fully compliant.
🎨 Step 5: Design & The Fun Stuff
This is where your ideas take shape! Your Interior Designer will:
- Review your inspiration
- Conduct a design consultation
- Create a Fixtures & Finishes Schedule to budget
- Develop 3D renders and CAD plans (for kitchens, bathrooms & laundries)
Once your selections are finalised and signed off, we’re ready to renovate!
🔨 Step 7: Construction Begins
With contracts approved, construction begins!
Your dedicated Project Manager will:
- Coordinate trades
- Provide regular updates
- Conduct mandatory inspections at key stages (e.g. slab, frame, waterproofing)
If you’re not living on-site, we’ll provide progress updates and photos to keep you informed.
🧾 Step 8: Final Inspections & Completion
As your project wraps up, we’ll arrange a final inspection with your Project Manager to ensure everything meets your expectations.
🎉 Step 9: Enjoy!
Time to enjoy your new space! Whether it’s a stunning kitchen, a luxe bathroom, or a full home refresh, you can now enjoy the results of a well-executed, compliant renovation.
🤝 Step 10: After-Sales Support
We stand by our work with a comprehensive aftercare process. After final payment, you’ll receive a Completion Pack with:
- Warranty documentation
- Maintenance & Care instructions
